As Mark Woods is doing homework, a mysterious marble-like stone streaks into his room.  With the stone's help, Mark becomes the best in his school at playing marbles.  When two beings from another world come to claim the stone and its supernatural power, Mark ends up in a battle for control of the universe.  Mark has to choose courage in the face of tremendous fear in order to do what is right.  In the process, he learns that, more than a person's possessions or abilities, it is who he is on the inside that really counts.

A new boy at school leads Mark into a subtle trap, and he must face the terrible Dragon of Raldan in battle.  Through the adventure, Mark learns how deceptive and destructive that cliques and peer pressure can be and how to take a more genuine path to friendships.
